1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise the first; Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the cluds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Yvonne Cunningham was born December 15, 1943 in Lancaster, South Carolina to the late Bernice and Joshua Jones. She departed this life on January 22, 2020 at Doctors Hospital in Lanham, Maryland.
Yvonne graduated from Barr Street High School in Lancaster, South Carolina. She later moved to Washington, DC with her sister Johnnie Mae Banks.
Yvonne worked for Drug Fair, Rite Aide and the United States Department of Agriculture where she retired from, after over 20 years of service.
Yvonne married the late Isaiah Cunningham on December 18 1982. They joined the New Southern Rock Baptist Church, then later moved their membership to New Dawn Baptist Church. Yvonne was a faithful member and very active in the church. She was a member of the Deaconess Board and the Women's Ministry. She went to church even when she wasn't feeling well.
Yvonne loved the Washington Redskins. She wouldn't let you talk bad about her Redskins. Yvonne loved traveling and music. She liked to have fun and make people laugh. Yvonne loved to talk to her family and friends on the telephone, some she spoke to every day. She loved her family.
Yvonne had one son, the late Aaron Eskridge, Jr. , whom she loved so much. One sister preceded her in death Betty Jean Jones-Cousart. Yvonne leaves to cherish her memory: one sister Johnnie Mae Banks; two brothers Robert Foster and Richard Foster ; one sister-in-law Janie Foster; four grandchildren: Brandon, Aaron III, Rashad and Lexington; six geat-grandchildren; Marcus, Aaron (AJ) , Aryanah, Izayah, Mason and Dallas; one god daughter Minnie Clea; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
