October 18, 1935 – January 26, 2020
Mr. Rufus F. Blue affectionately known as "Blue" was born on October 18, 1935 in Dillion, South Carolina to the late Newell F. and Nita Blue.
Rufus confessed his love for Christ and became a longstanding member of the Restoration Fellowship Church. He attended faithfully until he begun to have health challenges.
Rufus married Maggie Blue who preceded him in death. In October 1978 he met and later married Loris (nee' Ferguson) who loved and cared for him until he passed peacefully in his sleep at home. He was an excellent provider to her and his two stepsons Lloyd and Dave.
He showed his strong work ethic and dedication to doing a good job most notably at Pepco where he spent 35 years, moving up through the ranks.
Rufus loved and cared for his family, spending his free time visiting family members, His care and generosity did not end with his family as it extended to friendsand neighbors especially those sick and shut -in.
He loved fishing, hunting, farming (sharing his crop with neighbors and family) and the love of his life restoring his vintage car.
His memory will be cherished by his devoted wife Loris, his son dave, brothers James (Silver), Macio, Mullins, SC; sister-in-law Sybil Ferguson, Kingston, Jamaica. Mae Little, Winnepeg, Canada and Elise Ferguson, Fl. brothers-in-law George Queens, NY, Noel, Fl., Merwin, DC. Carlton and Solomon, Jamaica, grandchildren LeAngeLique, lloyd Jr., Imani, Logan and Lena. Uncle, aunt, nieces, nephews and a host of other family members and friends.
Son Lloyd, twin sister Ruth, sisters Rose and Mary, brothers Perry and Luther preceded him in death.
