Obituary

John W. Williams of Hyattsville, Maryland passed away from a broken heart on March 25th, 2019 in his home listening to gospel music and surrouned by love from his caretaker and great granddaughter Robin 'Lil Robbie" Smith and Camille Smith (his two girls from Baltimore). Born February 4th 1921 to L.D. and Katie Williams in Columbus, Georgia. As a young man in his early adulthood John joined the United States Army where he honorably served his country for over 30 years and retired in the year 196, with an Asiatic Pacific medal with two brown stars. Philippine Liberation Ribbon. Word War II victory medal. American service medal. Good Conduct Medal and an Army of occupation medal/ National Defense Service medal with German clasp. 1947 was the year the strong John married the first love of his life and gained 4 stepchildren; Mildred, Marion , Laverne, and French. Along the way, he also gained a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren, with whom he spent his final days with until rest. John became lucky in love again when he married Mr. Carrie D. Shaw in 1995 whom preceded him in death on February 13th 2019 Having no biological children of their own John and Carrie were the benevolent uncle and beloved aunt to a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren of whom they loved to their last breath.
