Mrs. Helen White , 91, of Washington, D.C. formerly of Youngstown , Ohio; who departed this life Fridaay April 20, 2019, at Providence Hospital in Washington, D.C. She was born June 23, 1926, in Spartanburg, South Carolina, a daughter of Stanyard and Navara Tinsley Pearson. She graduated from Fairforest High School in Spartanburg, S.C. and attended Youngstown State University after relocation. In 1992, she retired from her job as a Senior Nursing Assistant at George Washington University Hospital in Washington, D.C. After retirement she spent time babysitting children of family and friends. She was a faithful member of the Isles of Patmos Baptist Church for nearly 50 years, serving on the Royal Usher Board, singing with the Voices of Victory Choir, faithfully attended Women of the Word Bible Class, and a member of the June Club. In December 1969, Helen rekindled and married her high school sweetheart Lloyd White, which lead to her relocation to Washington, D.C. in June 1970. They enjoyed an active life together until his passing in August 2004. She leaves to cherish her memories two daughters, Minister Carmen N. (Casey) Hall and Deaconess Tawana Lewis Wheeler; a stepson, Arthur White, two grandchildren, Eric T. Burroughs and Donielle Wheeler, two great-grandchildren Kennedi and Kairo Johnson. She leaves her brother Milton (Yvonne) Pearson and a special niece LoJuana ( Kevin) Davis, a host of nieces nephews, cousins, sister-in-law in South Carolina and friends Helen enjoyed spending time with her family her church family and close family, friends by participating in celebrations, reunions, parties. Mostly, she loved sharing time with her grandchildren and great grand children. She was preceded in death by her son Ronnie Lewis, five brothers and one sister.
