Gerald Sidney Edwards III (Lil G) was the first child of three, on November 14, 1991 at Greater Southeast Hospital to Gerald Sidney Edwards Jr. and Michelle Theresa Martin.
On Wednesday afternoon June 11, 2014, God sent his angels of love and mercy with a message "Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things. I will make you a ruler over many things, Enter thou into the joy of thy Lord." Matthew 25:23
Gerald attended several D.C. Public Schools and finished his High School education at Luke C. Moore. He loved football and played for Rosedale Recreation Center for six years as a wide receiver. He was currently unemployed, but actively seeking employment with the sanitation department.

He attended church at Temple of Praise on Southern Avenue where he gave his life over to Christ in 2011 under Bishop Staples.
He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Gerald Sidney Edwards Sr.; aunt MarieAnn Keyes; uncle Dwayne Martin and uncle Marco Smith. He leaves to mourn his death his father Gerald S. Edwards Jr..; mother, Michelle Martin; siblings, Michaela' D. Edwards, Anyae' R. Lindsay; niece, Khloe' M. Hawkins; grandmothers, Geneva B. Keyes; and Cynthia E. Edwards, and step-grandmother, Deborah Edwards; Aunts Naomie Martin, Maureen Martin, Sherry M. Edwards, Nicole E. Robinson, Sabrina Walker; Uncles, Elvin C. Keyes, Clayton Martin, Ralph Martin Jr., Reginald Robinson Sr. and Michael Walker Sr.; cousins; Tony, Eric, Sidney, Kevin, Kyia, Mikea, Reigene, Marcola, Reggie Jr., Ce'likk, Raphael and Mike Jr. and a host of other very loving family members.
