IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Frances N.
Frazier
April 13, 1936 – June 9, 2023
On Friday, June 9, 2023, in the early morning hours, the Lord dispatched Heavenly angels to the Lisner Louise Dickson Hurt Home in Washington, DC to call Frances Neolus Flowers Frazier back home to reside with Him forever. On that day her soul and spirit left her body and went into the spiritual Kingdom of our Heavenly Father. "To be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord" (2 Corintians 5:8)! Now that she is with Him, she will never again experience sickness, sorrow, pain nor grief, but only peace and joy.
Frances was born in Surry County, VA. to the late Ernest and Mattie Flowers and graduated from LP Jackson High School in Dendron, VA. She was baptized at an early age and made it her mission to serve the Lord in all she did. She also reminded others to do the same every time she answered the phone with her proud "Praise the Lord!"
Once she stepped into her adult life, she lived life forward. She spent several years in the hotel and hospitality industry and was a dedicated care taker for many in and outside of the family. She eventaully became a proud resident of Washington, DC. where she met and married her late husband, Ernest Frazier, Jr. Together they attended New Southern Rock Baptist Church in Washington, DC where they were active in several ministries. For many decades, she resided in Edgewood Terrace - The View Senior Apartments.
She loved gardening and was known for her gorgeous flower and herb gardens. Before she became ill, if ever you needed to find her, you could always begin by searching the flower gardens first. She beautiifed any empty space she found; outside with flowers and inside with jewels!
As her memory began to fail, she still lived life forward and continued to display her love of Christ, her love of life, and her sense of humor. She will be greatly missed, but those who love her certainly understand that we were only allowed to have her for a while as God needed her more.
She was predeceased by her parents, Ernest and Mattie Flowers, husband, Ernest Frazier, jr.; step-son, Ernest Frazier III; sister Eunice Flowers King: aunt, Lucille Ellis Harris; niece, Debora Denise King; and great-niece Petrina Antoinette Moore.
To carry her memory in their hearts is a host of relatives: uncle, William Henry Ellis, Jr., Tucson, Az. , nieces, Patricia King Moore (Clyde), Laurie King Elliot, Letha King Brooks (Jerome) all of Hampton, VA; nephew, Charles King, jr., Newport News, VA, a special great niece, Charnette King, Hampton, VA, a special cousin, James "Shag" Ellis, Dendron, VA; grandsons, Vernon Goodwin (Denise) of Upper Marlboro, MD and Carlton McLeod (Donna) of Chesapeake, VA; and a very special grandaughter, Kimberly Frazier Fields (Emmanuel) of Upper Marlboro, MD. There is also a multitude of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the attenive and loving staff of the Lisner Lousie Dickson Hurt Home for their expert care for nearly nine years.
" You who live in the shelter of the Most High, who abide in the shadow of the Almighty, will say to the Lord, "My refuge and my fortress ; my God in whom I trust" (Psalm 91:1-2).
Now Frances can truly "Priase the Lord"!
