Edward Foye was born July 29,1933 to the late Roy and Geneva Foye in Selma, North Carolina. He attended Richard B. Harrison School in Selma, North Carolina, and graduated from Armstrong High School in Washington, D.C. Before leaving North Carolina, he joined in holy matrimony with Sarah Mae Smith on May 09,1953. They had been married sixty-three years at the time of his death, Of this union, three children were born, Ronnie Foye, Melinda Etheridge (Wendell) and the late Carol Lynn Foye-Roberts. Edward Foye worked at the U.S. Soldiers Home for twenty years and ten with the D.C. Fire Department where he rose to the rank of Deputy Director of the Ambulance Division. After retiring from the D.C. Fire Department, he sold real estate for five years. While retired, he enjoyed cruising the seas with family and spending time with them, especially his grandson, whom he called "my Kobe". He leaves to cherish his memory: his children and one grandson, Donte Etheridge: four sisters, Doris Foye of Selma, North Carolina. Faye Minter (Dave) of Mitchellville, MD., Shirley Faison (Robert) of Selma, North Carolina, and Trumilla Armstrong (James) of Greensboro, North Carolina; three brothers, Roy Lee Foye of Selma, North Carolina, and Ruby (Regina) Foye of Selma, North Carolina; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, great-great nieces and nephews, and friends.
