IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Diane Bunch
Mccree
August 29, 1952 – August 7, 2020
Diane Bunch McCree on August 29th 1952, at Columbia Hospital in Washington, D.C. She was the daughter of Fred E. Bunch and Ruby E. Bunch. Diane Departed this life at 2:17 PM on Friday August 7, 2020. Diane was the middle child of five children who were raised by their mother. Diane truly loved her mom. She grew up in a home full of love. The houshold included her grandmother (granny) an aunt and cousins, so there were extra family members to shower love upon Diane and her four siblings. Let's just say Diane had a fun filled family oriented childhood. She received her education in the Washungton, D.C. Public School System, earning her high school diploma from Spingarn Senior High School. Diane fell in love and married her childhood sweetheart, Ellis McCree Sr., on December 30th 1969. Diane and Ellis were dealt a tough blow, however. Ellis had been drafted into the Army and soon after the marriage he was sent to serve a tour of duty in Vietnam. But blessings soon followed. In 1970 Diane gave birth to their first child, Ellis Jr. and Ellis Senior returned safely from the war to continue the marriage that would last more than fifty years. Shortly after starting a family, Diane became employed as Administrative personnel in various divisions of the State Department in the Feeral Government. Years later she retired to become a loving stay at home mom to her five children. Diane took pride in her role as a loving wife and wonderful mom. She enjoyed going out dancing and spending quality time with her husband. And she especially loved to provide adventurous family outings. She loved shopping and made sure her family was well dressed from head to toe. On September 16th 2014 Diane was baptized as a Jehovah's Witness. She devoted the rest of her life to pleasing Jehovah. She also made sure her children and grandchildren knew Jehovah's word. Diane fell ill in February of 2018 and battled multiple health complications until she succumbed to them. Though it all, she showed tremendous strength and endured all without complaint. Diane was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband of 50 plus years, Ellis McCree Sr., five children, Ellis McCree Jr. (Tammy), Yejide Price (Hampton), Jemala McCree, Epesi McCree, Reva McCree, one sister, Ruby Strain (Clarence), three brothers, Roosevelt Bunch, Fred Bunch, (Ruby) John Bunch, 17 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, godchildren, In-laws and a host of family and friends.
