IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dewan H.
Hodo
October 17, 1962 – September 15, 2019
Life's Reflection
God in His infinite wisdom and divine love, called from our midst our loved one, DeWan Miguel (Guel) Hodo on Sunday, September 15, 2019. He was the second of four children born to Franklin and Wilma Hodo on October 17, 1962. DeWan was born and raised in the Washington, D.C./Silver Spring, Maryland areas.
DeWan completed his elementary and secondary educations in the Montgomery County Maryland Public School System. After graduation from high school, DeWan attended Montgomery College in Rockville, Maryland, before transferring to Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona. A renowned athlete, by most of his friends' admission, he played college basketball at both Montgomery College and Grand Canyon University.
While in high school and prior to attending college, DeWan became one of the youngest managers of a McDonald's franchise. It was here that he developed his work ethic, in addition to meeting many of his life-long friends. DeWan always had an interest in the mathematics field and loved numbers. After returning home from Grand Canyon University, he used this knowledge in the field of accounting, where he was employed by several accounting firms throughout the Washington, DC Metropolitan Area. He was the recipient of several awards and commendations. At the time of death, he was employed as an Audit and Accounting Subject Matter Expert (SME) with IFAS Consulting LLC, detailed to the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) within the Department of Defense located at Fort Meade, Md.
DeWan had many loves, which included his family, sports, and travel. DeWan combined his love of family, sports, and travel by organizing several annual sports outings for his brothers, cousins and their friends.
DeWan was very family oriented. He was very dedicated to the well-being of his parents, checking in on them personally no less than 2-3 times per week. He loved spending time with his brothers and cousins. Most important to know, is that he was always one of, if not, the most magnetic personalities in any room. DeWan was always the life of the party.
Dewan leaves to cherish his memory his long-time partner, Susan Snively and the girls, Lucy and Meg of Rockville, Maryland; parents, Frank and Wilma Hodo of Silver Spring, Maryland; brothers – Edwin Hodo of Olney, Maryland; Lathan Hodo (Julie) of Rockville, Maryland; and Franklin Hodo ll (Sharon) of Hyattsville, Maryland; 2 nieces, Kesha and Kiara Hodo; 1 nephew Franklin Andre' Hodo, along with too many other relatives and friends to name.
