On June 3, 1930, in Turbeville, South Carolina, Reverend P.S. Lincoln and Ollie Lincoln were blessed with their oldest child, Christine Haskins Lincoln, Christine earned her high school diploma and her cosmetology license in Clarendon County and Sumpter County, South Carolina respectively. As a young adult, Christine migrated north, living in New York City for many years before relocating to the nation's capitol. Soon after her arrival in Washington, DC, Christine became an entrepreneur as the co-owner of the Park Ritchie Beauty Salon and Barbershop ("The Shop"). She also met Charles Thomas, who became her husband of 31 years. God was always front and center in Christine's life. As such, she joined New Southern Rock Baptist Church ("The Rock") under the leadership of the late Reverend M.G. Barr< and actively continued her service to God through the years to come under the direction of Reverend Dr. Rudolph White, Despite battling various medical challenges in her later years, Christine's devotion to her Church and faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ never faltered. Christine was particularly proud of her daughter and best friend, Ronnya. They spent countless afternoons in "Chris' Kitchen" talking and laughing, while preparing her delectable, homemade dishes. Although few people were allowed in the kitchen during preparation. EVERYONE was welcome when it was time to eat. She loved blessing people with good food and fellowship. Family, The Shop and The Rock were everything to Christine. When she wasn't with her family, laughing and whipping up pound cakes from scratch, she was at The Shop. And when she wasn't at The Shop, she was at The Rock where she was an active member of the Missionary Club, Scholarship Committee, Hymn Book Choir, Courtesy Chorus, Senior Usher Board and Pastor's Aide Club. Whereever she went, she always had a smile on her face, joy in her spirit and a heart for people. She also, more times than not, had her grandson Shaun in tow.
