Obituary

Alicia Evonne Pinckney was born on February 16, 1985, to Alan Edward Pinckney Jr. and Andrea Gail Pinckney at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC.

Alicia received her formal eduaction from Rhema Christian Center School, Concordia Lutheran School and Takoma Academy High School, class of 2003. Alicia earned her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism with a minor in Theater at Penn State University in 2008.

Alicia was baptized at an early age at Rhema Christian Center Church where she was a member of the Tots and Children Choirs. She later joined City of Rfuge Church in Los Angeles, CA. online. Alicia's faith and service in the Lord shaped the decisions she made in life. Alicia would often listen to classic gospel music from some of her favorite artist; Mahalia Jackson, James Cleveland and Albertina Walker.

Alicia enjoyed the arts and politics. As a child, she was a member of the Children Express in Washington, D.C.; danced with several dance academies, played the violin acted in plays, and enjoyed singing. At Takoma Academy, she was a member of the Drama Club where she performed in several plays. her most memorable role was as Marilla in Anne of Green Gables. Alicia became a Page for the 2003 Session of theMaryland General Assembly. At Penn Sate. Alicia was often involved in alumni activities for the Penn State Communication Alumni Association in the Washington, D. C. , area. She loved being a Nittany Lion and her last Penn State event was attending the Blue and White Football game in April 2023.

After college, Alicia volunteered for the obama Presidential Campaign before starting her career in journalism, marketing and communications. She loved freelancing for the Examiner newspaper writing articles on movies, theater, and actors. She ended her career as a Senior Coordinator in Marketing and Communication at the National Health Council and a Communications Membership Coordinator at the Satelitte Broadcasting and Communications Association.

On Monday May 8, 2023, Alicia peacefully transitional to be with the Lord at John Hopkins Hospital.

Alicia is preceded in death by her grandfathers, Reginald K. Johnson and Alan E. Pinckney, Sr.; grandmother , Charlie Mae Johnson and special cousin. Romael Johnson. She is survived by her parents. Alan E. Pinckney, Jr. and Andrea Gail Pinckney; her brother, Alan E. Pinckney III; grandmother, Barbara Pinckney; uncles, Reginald A. Johnson, Kenneth Johnson, David Pinckney (Kim); aunts, Karen Johnson, Annette Johnson, Gina Thompson (Lloyd); special cousin Danielle Johnson (Peter): Godmothers, Dolores Evans and Donna Jefferson and a host of cousins, family and friends.
